About The Artist: Angie Pangie

Now that the kids are grown and I have peace and quiet, I can finally dedicate more time to my art. I work primarily with oils, watercolors, and pastels, exploring different mediums and techniques. After graduating from college, I had the opportunity to work for Impulse Art. This experience allowed me to further develop my skills and gain valuable insights into the art world.  During high school, I was fortunate enough to be accepted into the Aldine Contemporary Education Arts Magnet program, also known as "ACE." This program offered a diverse education in various art forms, such as metal plate etchings, photography, life drawing, acrylic painting, and silk screen printing. One of my biggest inspirations during this time was the artist Toulouse-Lautrec and his stone lithographs. The way he brought simple street art to the clubs of Paris continues to intrigue me to this day.

After completing the ACE program, I received acceptances from prestigious art schools such as the University of Savannah School of Art and Design, Pratt Institute in New York City, and Texas Tech University. However, I couldn't bear to leave my favorite playground and the vibrant nightlife of Houston. So, I made a deal with my parents and decided to study Graphic Design at the Art Institute of Houston.

Studying graphic design allowed me to expand my artistic repertoire and learn how to communicate visually in a different way. It was a valuable experience that added another layer to my artistic expression.
Now, with more free time and a world of artistic knowledge under my belt, I am excited to dive back into my true passion – fine arts. I love challenging myself with new subjects and experimenting with various techniques. Whether it's capturing the beauty of nature with watercolors or creating vibrant scenes with oils, I find immense joy in the process of creating art.
